Why am I doing this?
FOOD IS FUN!! At least for me it is! A way for to relax and when I get in the zone, seems like stress just leaves my body. More than anything, I cook meals to keep my husband and I as healthy as we can be, but making dishes we really like. Taking your basic food, but adding a much healthier spin on it. It never feels like diet food, so it is something you can get used to. Basically, my breakdown:
Real food that the average person will enjoy. Nothing too foreign and most are kid-friendly. Not the diet fads where you don’t feel like eating, but just a healthy way of eating every single day. (except your cheat days, those are allowed.)
Food that is pesticide, nitrate, nitrite and as organic as you can possibly go. We believe in supporting local farmers markets and staying away from food filled with preservatives and all the other junk incorporated. Organic is expensive, so we stick with the Dirty Dozen.
This explains itself. I have not eaten pork or any red meat since I was 16, so I have to be creative in my cooking, or it will get boring FAST! Occasionally I will make my husband some beef something, but he doesn’t miss it, so why cook it?!?
